There are times when we see a situation in a certain way, but someone comes and totally change our perception about that situation …. and we start to believe that the real truth is what that person told us.
Depending of the impact of that issue on us … our emotions becomes similar with the ones of the person that influenced us, even if not long time ago we believed something totally different.
An old lady, which is my neighbor … recently told me a story about her nephew that had a building in the city near us, rented to different persons from our area.
Bill … had about 15 tenants and one of them … Michael … started to take drugs … which made him change a lot … as a human being.
Bill had a big experience dealing with clients, but even if he and Michael used to be very good friends … something happened and broke their connection.
In the beginning … Bill had not the ability to see and accept that drugs can ruin very close friendships and turn friends into real enemies.
Would laugh if someone would tell him that …. but he could not imagine what will soon happen.
Michael resigned the contract with him, left the building, but also called all the people living there … telling all kinds of lies about him and the building.
He mentioned that Bill was calling them … idiots, stupids, retards … that the water from the building was infected and they could die because of that … and guess what??!
Even if everyone was very happy in there and had no complain … even if they liked Bill … they started to dislike him and think about what Michael told them.
They all knew that the guy was taking drugs … and they also knew the impact of drugs on the human mind … but still Michael succeeded to influence them.
Half of them believed him … and left the building also.
The other half … still remained in there … but were still thinking at what Michael told them.
But the naive Bill … could not believe that a person with such contradictory ideas in his mind, depending on the quantity of drugs he was consuming in that day … had so much impact on the minds and emotions of people that never consumed drugs.
It was really unbelievable … but still a real case scenario … and probably a lesson of life for Bill.
He had to smile and find new clients for his apartments and just accept, but also ignore the fact that people as Michael, that are suffering of the illusory dance of contradictory emotions … can have such a powerful influence on the others.
A person that lost him minds and has no control on himself … made those people believe his ideas from the time when he was under the effect of drugs.
Bill thought … they are normal and in the same time intelligent people … not realizing how easy a negative person could change the thoughts and the emotions of the people from his life.
So … what do you really think?! … was Bill a negative character … or Michael?!
I believe is irrelevant … but what we should keep in mind … is that we should pay more attention and filter better the ideas came from the people around us.
Truth be told … people with contradictory thoughts and emotions … are dangerous … and maybe the only advice could be to ignore them … and let them live in their illusory world, without permitting to influence us.
So … let’s enjoy life and accept that influences exists … but we should connect only at the beautiful vibes and forget about the ugly ones.
